A new orchestra work by Miguel Azguime will be premiered in April 24th in the festival Dias da Música em Belém, in Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon. Illuminations will pe performed by the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, directed by Pedro Carneiro.

Besides its particular relationship with poetry (a reference to Rimbaud) the work deals with the idea of “illuminating” a certain musical object and casting a new light on previous musical materials. The orchestra is thus conceived as an instrument of timbral coloration and harmonic lighting.
