"MÚSICA HOJE" - NEW MIC.PT AND MISO MUSIC PORTUGAL'S RADIO PROGRAMME FOR RTP-ANTENA 2

Música Hoje is a radio programme presented, realized and produced by Miso Music Portugal and the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre, returning after 15 years to the Antena 2, every month, fortnightly on Saturdays at 1 a.m. The new edition of Música Hoje, with the first broadcast on January 4, will be dedicated, above all, to Portuguese new music, putting side by side the creation of composers from various generations.
Música Hoje responds to the need to draw attention to the richness that exists today on the Portuguese music scene by giving voice to the phenomenon already proclaimed as the "second renaissance of Portuguese music", in which the variety of aesthetics and quality of languages confirms the fact that, indeed, there is not only one contemporary music!
The first Música Hoje programmes will be devoted to some of the essential composers in 20th century Portuguese music, including the ones featured in the In Focus section of the mic.pt.

The first Música Hoje programme will be devoted to one of the most proeminent Portuguese composers: Cândido Lima.

"WORKBOOKS OF INVENTIONS" BY CÂNDIDO LIMA

The "Workbooks of Inventions" by Cândido Lima, a vast and original collection of 85 "Workbooks" for diverse instruments (each "Workbook" is composed of 10 short pieces), have been published and distributed online by the mic.pt within the series of Didactic Scores, since December. Composed regularly from 2006/07, dedicated to new generations of performers and intended for all kinds of audiences the “Workbooks” have been conceived to integrate the curricular programmes of music education. They constitute an “introduction to the music of today”, by means of performance and analysis, inviting to take up the challenge of “sounds to discover”.
Being in constant development, the new MIC.PT catalogue of Didactic Scores currently also includes other collections by Cândido Lima, such as "Canções para a Juventude" and "Variações à volta do sol", as well as works by Clotilde Rosa, Christopher Bochmann, Ângela Lopes and Jorge Peixinho.
